The best day trips often have only three anchors: a walk, a meal, and one small place to browse.
Choose a town within a comfortable drive. Find the park, the bakery, the used bookstore, the overlook, or the little main street that gives the day a center. Leave enough white space around the plan for weather, tired feet, and the surprise coffee shop you did not know to search for.
Bring home one receipt, one photo, or one line in the notebook. That is enough to make the day feel kept.
